By the UGC the Calcutta University has been declared as “5 Star University and a “Centre with Potential for Excellence”.
In India this Calcutta University is the only one University which produced four Nobel laureates and among the first five hundred universities of the world it has been ranking consistently. The University campus covers over 2.7 acres. This university has 153 affiliated colleges under its umbrella.
