Bharat Bandh Today: Due to increase in price of petroleum

To protest against the increase price in petroleum and other commercial and domestic fuels a nationwide bandh has been called on 15th of July 2010 by the non Congress political parties, mainly the left front, BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) and its allies. In many parts of the county the bandh has resulted in disruption.

To a double digit number inflation has reached, after the withdrawal of subsidies from some fuels by government.

From the purview of the bandh some essential service like hospital water and milk are exempted. In morning till 8:00am the flights were flying smoothly. In Delhi,Patna and Mumbai there are no adverse effect or delay on flights.But in West Bengal flights have been delayed, and life has almost come to a halt in West Bengal.

However, bandh has started taking a role in other parts of the cities.

Buses,cars,trucks and autos has taken  actively part in bandh in Gujarat. Since morning they are not seen on roads and schools and colleges are also shut down.

In Delhi though vehicles are on road but they are in less number. An immense problem has been caused to daily goers due to the traffic blocked by the protesters in different parts of the cities. In New Delhi alone 13 demonstration has been planned by the Left Front.

In Mumbai to the local trains extra security has been arranged. Some of the protesters has already been arrested. In Mumbai all the shops, colleges and schools are shut down.

However by all the parties an appeal has been made that to make bandh a non violence bandh.
